Using a body lift will allow more tire and wheel options than available at the stock height. Skyjacker® carries a large selection for many applications and vehicle models.NOTE: Skyjacker® does not recommend the combined use of a suspension lift and body lift. For details see Skyjacker® Body lifts in the application guide section of the Skyjacker catalog. See page 143
Assorted Polyurethane Polyurethane is More Resistant Than Rubber Skyjacker® recognizes that rubber is more susceptible to the elements than polyurethane. Skyjacker® knows this and offers a wide variety of polyurethane components such as cab mount bushings, bump stops, spring eye bushings and shackle bushings just to name a few. Polyurethane can better resist the dynamic torque-like twisting and turning forces of suspension components as they go through their normal travel movements. Skyjacker® polyurethane components on your vehicle will last between three to ten times the longer than O.E.M. rubber components. Replace your worn rubber components with polyurethane and enjoy the use of these worry free components. Polyurethane Accessories Check out the complete list of polyurethane components Skyjacker® has to offer. See page 173 Skyjacker catalog.
Stainless Steel Braided BrakelinesD.O.T. Certified Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines The growing popularity of Motorsports has race fans asking for the safety and reliability of race type products in a form legal for use both on and off the road. Skyjacker® has gone to the forefront of the industry and recognizes the critical nature of hydraulic brake lines, especially for the predominately heavy four-wheel drive vehicles. The larger, heavier tire and wheel combinations along with lots of torque and combined horsepower often equates to faster starts with hard stops. This puts a greater strain on your vehicle's hydraulic braking systems. The stock rubber hoses may also over expand under these additional strains & pressures. After adding a suspension lift, there is also a 'length' factor to consider in these vehicles. The factory hoses may often be too short. Skyjacker® has gone to 'extended lengths' to accommodate our four wheeling friends and to improve your 4x4s braking performance. All have been tried and tested in some of the most severe conditions four wheeling has to offer in virtually every corner of the world. They all passed the test and are proven in their quality of engineering, workmanship and finish. Skyjacker® brake lines conform to all federal requirements of FMVSS106, making them D.O.T. Certified and T.U.V. Approved in Germany. D.O.T. Certified Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines Check out the complete list of brake line applications. See page 152 Skyjacker catalog.
Softride™ Leaf Springs4
Softride® By Skyjacker® Softride springs use only American steel and the individual leafs of each spring are shotpeened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shotpeening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the spring. Without this shotpeening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Softride springs use “bolt” style spring clips, eliminating friction. Other spring designs use the “cinch” style bend clips which bend tightly over the spring leafs causing binding and friction. Skyjacker® Softride springs taper over the entire width of the leaf creating more flex at the leaf ends. This tapering distributes loads more evenly over a greater area and reduces the tendency for one leaf to dig into the leaf above it. Softride® Leaf Springs Skyjacker® produces Softride leafs springs for practically every leaf spring equipped vehicle. See page 155 for a complete listing Softride TECHnology We built suspension systems when 4x4 vehicles were used exclusively for getting into the ‘outback’. That was 30 years ago. Since 1973, things have changed. What was called a recreational vehicle is now a main source of transportation as well as a rugged off-road vehicle.
In 1988, we invented SOFTRIDE® technology, which revolutionized the way leaf springs were engineered. SOFTRIDE® technology enhances every aspect of leaf spring performance, giving you all the rugged off-road handling needed while providing the smooth street riding characteristics that you demand. Softride Trademark SKYJACKER® holds a registered trademark for SOFTRIDE®. SOFTRIDE® is the best way of describing the ride quality of our leaf springs as a result of the engineering behind every model spring we¹ve developed. Shotpeening Spring leaves are blasted with hard, steel pellets (or shot), which increase the tensile strength. Without shotpeening, the maximum wheel travel cannot be achieved without sacrificing the life of the spring. Tapering Each leaf has a long tapered end that yields more flex. This allows the springs to slide freely against each other resulting in a smoother ride and improved travel. Teflon® Wear Pads These pads help to further reduce friction between leaves and greatly reduce noise caused by metal-to-metal contact. Tie Bolts Grade 8 center tie bolts are used in SOFTRIDE® springs and many designs incorporate an oversized bolt for increased strength. Bolt Clips Every SOFTRIDE® spring uses a bolt style clip to keep the spring leaves aligned. The primary purpose of this clip is to keep the leaves from fanning out. However an "cinch" style clip, which bends tightly over the spring leaves, restricts spring travel. Bolt style clips use a bolt across the spring leaves to eliminate friction within the leaves increasing spring travel. 2-Stage SKYJACKER® adds an overload spring leaf to most rear spring applications to provide load capacity without affecting the ride quality. The second stage engages and maintains the strength when extra weight is added or towing. Delrin Liner All 2 stage springs utilize a pure Delrin® liner pad between the spring pack and the overload leaf absorbing frictional stress under extreme loads. Presetting A hydraulic stress is applied to each spring in the normal direction of loading (most even to a negative arch) and then relieved. This gives the spring "memory" and reduces fatigue in the steel yielding even greater durability and reduces almost any chance of spring sag over time. Bushings SKYJACKER® provides red polyurethane bushings for all front springs. Most rear spring applications use a high quality steel encased rubber bushing that is pressed in during assembly. Custom Matched SKYJACKER® takes the additional time to hand match and label each pair of springs to assure a level lift is achieved. Axle Shims SKYJACKER® attaches the appropriate degree shims to the leaf springs for the purpose of correcting driveline angles in lifted applications.
Add-A-LeafsSkyjacker® Rear Add-A-Leafs Skyjacker® offers a diverse selection of rear add-a-leafs. Skyjacker® add-a-leafs insert directly into your factory rear leaf spring providing lift and added strength. Softride Add-a-leafs use only American steel and are shotpeened with hard steel pellets at very high velocities. This shotpeening compresses the surface of the steel thereby increasing the tensile strength of the leaf. Without this shotpeening procedure, the maximum wheel travel and ride quality could not be achieved without sacrificing the life of the leaf. The Skyjacker® add-a-leafs are pre-drilled for the center pin. Pin location varies with each application. Skyjacker® Add-A-Leafs For a complete list of add-a-leaf applications. See page 162 Skyjacker catalog.

If you've got a shimmy, you need a "shimmy shock". While the name shimmy shock is really old hat, the time given principle is still relevant to today's modern vehicles. The "automotively correct" term is steering stabilizer.
A steering stabilizer is a dampening shock for your steering system. It dampens out the harshness of the highway, the "shimmy" from running the additional weight of larger tires & wheels and places control back into the driver’s hands. Stabilizers also reduce the fatigue of the driver on a personal level by reducing the amount of physical strength it takes to guide those larger tires on and off the road. Changing the weak stock unit for a better performing replacement or adding dual steering stabilizers is an inexpensive but worthy investment.
Skyjacker carries a vast assortment of steering stabilizer up-grades for all popular vehicles. Their product line assortment includes stock replacements, new mounting brackets for an additional stabilizer and complete replacement dual steering stabilizer systems.
Skyjacker's Inline Design Dual Steering Stabilizers
Skyjacker's engineers calculated the numbers and came up with a winning equation, 2 inline steering stabilizers are greater than one. Skyjacker's newly developed "Incline Design" is the perfect fit for the Ford Super Duty, Excursions and Dodge Ram. The tie rod on these vehicles moves in a horizontal plane: left to right and vise versa.
Skyjacker's new inline mounting configuration delivers optimal steering component dampening. The Ford’s rugged center-mounting bracket easily installs on the center of the tie rod assembly. The passenger side utilizes the stock dampener mount while the new dual mount for the driver side is a bolt-on bracket that attaches with the leaf spring u-bolts.
The Dodge inline dual system comes complete with a die formed center mount bracket that attaches to the axle housing. The passenger and driver side mounts attach to the tie rod assembly. All brackets on all applications are gold zinc plated to provide long service life and resist road grime.
